Calhoun Isles is a flourishing and prosperous district rich with history. It’s comprised of tree-lined streets, large single-family homes, and plenty of restaurants, shops and parks. Given its hip urban vibe, it’s no surprise that most residents are young families and working professionals.

The Calhoun Isles is one of the most popular recreational destinations in Minneapolis, and many community activities revolve around the lakes.

In winter, the East Isles Residents Association hosts an annual skating party for Kenwood, Lowry Hill, and East Isles neighborhoods at the Lake of the Isles outdoor rink. The City of Lakes Loppet Ski Festival takes place in East Isles, attracting cross-country skiers from around the country who partake in various races, a sculpture contest and relax in the vendor village.

In summer, annual events include ice cream socials and the Hennepin Lake Community Wine Tasting Fundraiser. Outdoor recreation abounds in warmer months, from hiking and biking to swimming and boating. Levin Triangle Park and the Midtown Greenway provide day-to-day recreation.
